Several Smirnoff Ice products recalled due to ‘glass contamination’

Diageo is voluntarily recalling several products due to possible glass contamination. Consumers are being instructed not to drink the a large swathe of the vodka products.

“This recall was triggered the company. Diageo Canada is voluntarily recalling the potentially affected products from the marketplace,” The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a release. “The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.”

The recall includes just about every variety and flavouring for the Smirnoff Ice vodka beverage, though it does not affect Smirnoff Ice sold in plastic bottles.
