Keep on truckin’: Jason Kenney will tour Alberta in pickup truck to gain support for campaign to unite the right

cabinet appears set to take a summer road trip in .

, following his announcement in early July that he plans to leave politics and seek the provincial Progressive Conservative leadership, will launch a “Unite Alberta Truck Tour” in Edmonton this morning.

A spokesman for the campaign wouldn’t divulge early details on Sunday, but said the tour would be in a pickup truck.

Kenney said in July that he hoped to facilitate a merger between the PC party and the rival right-wing Wildrose.

Alberta’s PCs were ousted from office last year by the NDP after more than four decades in power, and will elect a new in March of next year.

Kenney has already been endorsed by former prime minister Stephen Harper, as well as interim federal Conservative leader Rona Ambrose.
